At Lemarielle we offer excellent comfortable accommodation, with mildly quirky character and a friendly welcome and optional services such as on-site holistic therapies, which many guests have found to be amazing and have commented to this effect. This combination is what has made us so successful winning repeat business and often making friends of our guests. Lemarielle is a converted farm house. No ordinary accomodation, It is full of character with original features and authentic charm. It is comfortable, spacious and well equipped. It has been said and is true in this case that the photo's although good do not do it justice. The garden is of a significant size with a pleasing outlook. The terrace is shaded by a pergola and outdoor dining space with seating for 6. Lemarielle sleeps x4 persons comfortably. The house is on two floors with a landing area connecting the x2 bedrooms. The pool, (solar panel heated this year) is gated and can be alarmed for child safety. There are bars/restaurants close by, Bar Douane at St Paul Lizonne, just 2km away or at St Severin where there is also a Spar, bank, pharmacy and Bar le Commerce for good value food and drink. Notably also an award winning Boulangerie with sumptuous cakes. Riberac with its famous market & Supermarkets is a 10 minute drive away. The local area has many delightful canal/lake walks and the region has many attractions within easy reach for days out.

The locale is perfect for cyclists too and If you are 'house hunting', we are geographically well positioned. to serve a great many area's in the Charente and Dordogne.
Coast/Beach:
We are about 90 minutes plus drive from the Atlantic coast at Royan or La Rochelle. However, Lac Jemaye, approximately 25 minutes away has a lovely man made beach and is ideal for safe family swimming and similarly Etang Vallier by Chalais. The award winning Aubeterre also has a beach on the river and childrens play area at less than a 15 minute drive. Also a river beach and water park at St Aulaye, just 20 minutes drive
Travel:
The nearest airport is Bergerac, about an hours drive. Bordeaux is also within easy reach although a slightly longer drive. Limoges provides an alternative & although it takes longer ~2 hours, it is a very pretty drive.
The nearest train station with links to Paris/UK is Chalais,~20km. The drive from the southern channel ports takes ~7 hours, perhaps a couple of hours longer from the tunnel. A car realistically is essential for a stay here as the area is very rural and without public transport
Distances:
St Severin is 1.5km with a Spar shop, bank, boulangerie, La Trattoria, Italian restaurant, Bar le Commerce and a pharmacy. La Licorne restaurant at Lusigniac is not far. Riberac 11km, a bustling market town with a great atmosphere. Aubterre 10km, won awards as one of the prettiest villages in France. Sit in the square with a drink or fine dining at Hostellerie du Perigord. Brantome 35km, Venice of the north. Very attractive with lots of good restaurants. Perigueux 40km, the capital with the old town and architecture.

There is an award winning Boulangerie/Patisserie at St Severin that sell the most wonderful cakes, both to look at and to eat! Once tempted, you will be back for more.
A visit to St Emilion is a must, it is full of charm and character and makes for a splendid day out with a lunch at one of the many restaurants. Or visit a Wine cave and amble down the cobbled streets.
The Cognac houses of the Charente are close enough for an easy days visit as are the cave paintings at Villars, (close to Brantome). The Dordogne valley with its numerous prehistoric sites are a long days outing. Lac Jemaye is a huge fresh water lake with swimming beaches and pedalos and hectares of forest walks. There is no charge to access the lake and facilities and picnics are recommended. There are canoes and Kayaks for hire locally - a really fun way to potter down the river.

Notamment, le Tour de France est à seulement 10 km le 8 juillet alors qu'ils roulent de Libourne à Limoges en passant par de nombreuses villes locales, donc de superbes points de vue et cette propriété est idéalement positionnée pour de bons points de vue. Et bien sûr à partir du 8 septembre la coupe du monde de rugby organisée par la France.
Chez Lemarielle, nous proposons un excellent hébergement confortable, avec un caractère légèrement décalé et un accueil chaleureux et des services optionnels tels que des thérapies holistiques sur place, que de nombreux clients ont trouvées incroyables et ont commentées à cet effet. Pas d'hébergement ordinaire, il est plein de caractère avec des caractéristiques originales et un charme authentique. Il est confortable, spacieux et bien équipé. Beaucoup à l'arrivée sont impressionnés et disent que la photo, bien que bonne, ne lui rend pas justice. Le jardin est d'une taille importante avec une perspective agréable. La terrasse est ombragée par une pergola et un espace repas extérieur pouvant accueillir 6 personnes. Lemarielle peut accueillir confortablement 4 personnes. La maison est sur deux étages avec un palier reliant les 2 chambres. La piscine, (chauffée par panneaux solaires cette année) est clôturée et peut être alarmée pour la sécurité des enfants. Il y a des bars/restaurants à proximité, Bar Douane à St Paul Lizonne, à seulement 2 km ou à St Severin où il y a aussi un Spar, une banque, une pharmacie et un Bar le Commerce pour de la nourriture et des boissons à bon prix. Notamment aussi une Boulangerie primée avec de somptueux gâteaux. Riberac avec son célèbre marché et ses supermarchés se trouve à 10 minutes en voiture. La région propose de nombreuses promenades sur les canaux et les lacs et la région regorge d'attractions facilement accessibles pour les journées d'excursion.
Chez Lemarielle, c'est l'attention portée aux détails qui, selon nous, nous distingue et c'est pourquoi nous avons si bien réussi à louer la propriété voisine, connue sous le nom de LeRapahel.
